Guy Hilsman
Since studying percussion from 9 years old, Guy has played a very diverse spectrum of percussion instruments and styles.
From classical studies in college, rudimental snare drumming success in some of the best Drum & Bugle Corps (world champion Blue
Devils in 1982), to broadening his drumming in diverse cultural situations (Afro Cuban, Salsa, Brazilian, etc.). Guy met Orlando Sanchez,
our bands percussionist, in 1990 and studied congas, bongos, timbales, etc. Ultimately Guy and Orlando became great friends and band
mates in Salsa bands, Latin Jazz bands, and 12 years together in a Disney percussion group “The Village Beatniks”, which consisted
of some of the best percussionists in central Florida and even the world. Two of my fondest drumming memories are playing congas on
a show with Peter Erskine at the Florida PAS convention, and meeting and rehearsing on drumset with Giovani Hidalgo and his band.

having a blast creating, rehearsing, recording, and perfecting our performance for post pandemic performances to come. This is more
